About Us

Meg Zurasky - Owner & Doodler

Hi, I’m Meg! I’m a trauma therapist based in Pittsburgh, PA. I have been a doodler my entire life – filling up the margins of every notebook, worksheet, journal with silly little drawings. For a lot of my adult life, I took art too seriously. I thought it had to be symbolic and deep or it wasn’t worth creating. Then one day, after a tough session with a client who was struggling with wanting to give up, I opened my iPad drawing app and wrote the words “I’ll try again tomorrow” and then doodled silly mushrooms around it. After a different hard session with a client struggling to connect to their inner child, I wrote “Do it for little you” and then drew a Polly Pocket, a toy near & dear to my own inner child. I realized that doodling in this lighthearted, sweet way about heavy topics was very balancing for me – so I kept doing it. After showing my art to close family and friends they helped me realize that they would make great stickers! … The rest is history ☺

The name Ordinary Joy comes from my inclination to look for the joyful despite being in a role that exposes me to the dark and heavy. All of my clients have heard me say “there’s enough space” – there’s enough space for both the heavy and the joyful and we have to make room for both.

This small business has been so much fun for me to engage with while also being a full-time therapist. It has also allowed me to slow down in a way that makes me better able to show up for my clients, my loved ones, but most importantly myself. Thank you for being here, thank you for showing up for yourself too. I hope my art makes you feel seen, light, and joyful!

Alyssa Wildrick - Director of Business Operations & Emotional Support Human

Alyssa is honest to god the reason this business is a success and why I'm not losing my mind. Believe it or not, they don't teach you a lot about running a small business when you're learning to be a therapist. Alyssa takes care of the business-y things that don't make sense in my brain, and she's also the best friend a girl could ask for.

Ryan Sabolcik - Director of Mail Services & My Will to Live

Ryan is the guy who makes sure you actually receive your packages, which is arguably the most important part of this process. His never failing belief in me is also the reason this space exists in the first place. Bless him.

Poppy & Banjo - Resident Coworkers

Honestly if you've ordered you've probably seen little black hairs somewhere in your package - those would be from the two most vital employees, Poppy (the dog) & Banjo (the cat). I am a Telehealth therapist, so these two keep me company every single day. They're mostly respectful coworkers, except for Banjo who steals my office chair every time I stand up.
